We are a non-denominational Christian church whose mission is "to be a genuine expression of Jesus Christ to all people in our community so
that they experience faith in Jesus Christ, hope for the present and
future, and an authentic love for others.

We firmly believe in accepting people where they are, as they are, and encouraging them to grow and continue on their journey of faith.  We believe that God wants to have a personal relationship with each and every person.

Statement of Faith

·        In essential beliefs - we have unity.

"There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one

baptism, and one God and Father of us all.

                                                                              Ephesians 4:4-6

·        In non-essential beliefs - we have liberty.

"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on

disputable matters. Who are you to judge someone else's servant?

To his own master he stands or falls...So then each of us will give an

account of himself to God...So whatever you believe about these things

keep between yourself and God."                          Romans 14:1,4,12,22

·        In all our beliefs - we show charity.

"...If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also
the very
secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move
mountains - but

have no love, I amount to nothing at all."

                                                                        I  Corinthians 13:2 (Ph)

  • We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, and is true God and true man. Jesus lived a sinless human life, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all peple by dying on the cross, arose bodily from the grave and ascended to heaven where he is our Advocate.  He will return someday in power and glory.

  • The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God.   He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.   As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, without error in the original writings, and is the final authority for all Christians.

  • People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin".  This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
We believe in God’s saving grace that calls all people to faith, repentance, confession, baptism, and a new life and ministry through the Holy Spirit.

  • Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty.  When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith.

  • People were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

 Our History

Our church was established in San Rafael in 1952. It is a non-denominational church with roots in the Western Unity Movement, led by Alexander Campbell in the 1820s.  In those days there were often not enough Christians of any one denomination in a town to plant a church.  Campbell encouraged believers to cross denominational boundaries and to join together, creating new churches that reflected Christ's call for love and unity.  We continue in that tradition by actively pursuing and developing unity between Biblically based churches in our county through cooperation, combined events and pastoral and cross-congregational friendships.
